HealthPoint

HealthPoint is a nonprofit FQHC network operating 13 clinics across nine Texas counties, providing integrated medical, dental, behavioural, pharmacy, maternal, paediatric, women's and senior care.

HealthPoint is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) network serving the Greater Brazos Valley of Texas. Founded in 1972, the organisation runs 13 clinics across nine Texas counties and treats more than 47,000 patients a year. It is partly funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Care is delivered through an integrated model spanning primary medical services, dental care, behavioural health, pharmacy services, maternal and paediatric care, women's health and senior care. Services are coordinated across disciplines so that patients are handled by a connected team of providers rather than through isolated referrals. An income-based sliding-fee scale applies to all services; the clinics welcome both insured and uninsured patients.

Governance is distinctive: a majority of seats on the governing board are held by patients - community members who receive care at the clinics and who therefore shape clinic decisions. The stated commitment is to make quality care accessible regardless of income, insurance status or ZIP code, using evidence-based practice in a patient-empowered team setting.

Practitioners considering the network should expect work across the full spectrum of community health - from primary and preventive care to behavioural health and care coordination - within a mission-driven, nonprofit organisation rooted in one region since 1972.
