Family-owned supermarket chain founded in 1932, operating 19 grocery stores across Utah with online ordering, curbside pickup, pharmacy and dietitian services.
Harmons, trading as Harmons Neighborhood Grocer, is a family-owned supermarket chain founded in 1932 by Jake Harmon and his wife Irene, who began with a fruit stand. The company is headquartered in West Valley City and operates 19 grocery store locations across Utah. More than 90 years after its founding, it remains under family ownership and sells quality and local food products both in-store and online.
The business centres on its retail grocery stores, whose specialised departments include bakery, kitchen, produce, meat, floral and traditional grocery, with an emphasis on local products, sustainability and healthy eating. Beyond the shop floor, Harmons runs an eShop online ordering platform providing curbside pickup and delivery, as well as a cooking school, in-store pharmacy services, dietitian services and the Foodie Club customer loyalty programme. Technical work spans e-commerce and online grocery ordering, and curbside pickup and delivery logistics.
Harmons describes itself as an equal opportunity employer that celebrates employee diversity and values community engagement. The company states a commitment to serving the Utah community with quality food from all over Utah, along with a philosophy that "being different is better than being normal".
