AccuKnox

AccuKnox, incubated from SRI International in 2020, builds a Zero Trust CNAPP for cloud, Kubernetes, AI, API and supply-chain security, and is core contributor to the KubeArmor project.

AccuKnox is a cyber-security firm founded in August 2020 as an incubation from SRI International (Stanford Research Institute). It builds a Zero Trust Security platform - a Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform, or CNAPP - intended to protect enterprises across AI, API, application, cloud and supply-chain security domains. The company has raised $10.6M across multiple rounds and employs more than 65 professionals in a globally distributed team.

Its principal product, the AccuKnox CNAPP / Zero Trust Security Platform, spans code development through to cloud runtime operations, covering public and private clouds, Kubernetes, virtual machines, bare metal, IoT edge and 5G infrastructure. It brings CSPM, CWPP, KSPM and ASPM into a single control plane for visibility, compliance and security of cloud-native assets. AccuKnox is also the core contributor to KubeArmor, a Cloud Native Computing Foundation project for Kubernetes runtime security, which uses eBPF and Linux Security Modules - AppArmor, BPF-LSM and SELinux - to block attacks in the kernel at runtime.

Technical work at the company covers Kubernetes and container security, anomaly detection, data provenance, eBPF, DevSecOps, and cloud, application and API security posture management. The organisation runs an all-remote operating model with a flat, egalitarian structure, in which senior staff act as coaches, mentors and contributors rather than traditional managers. Its approach is described as open-source led and DevSecOps-powered.
