PHW-Gruppe

PHW-Gruppe is a European family-owned food group founded in 1932 in Rechterfeld, Germany, by Paul-Heinz Wesjohann. What began as a small agricultural trading business with a hatchery has grown into one of the largest poultry producers in Europe, comprising more than 45 subsidiaries and more than 10,000 employees. The group operates across three business fields: poultry, alternative protein sources, and health.

Poultry integration remains the core business. Within it, the brands WIESENHOF and BRUZZZLER cover high-quality poultry specialties. Since 2013 the group has intensified work on plant-based technologies and raw materials, resulting in alternative protein products and the plant-based brand GREEN LEGEND. Technical domains span poultry production and integration, hatchery operations, plant-based food technologies, alternative protein raw materials and ingredients, and agricultural trading.

PHW-Gruppe's subsidiaries operate largely independently while drawing on the strength of the group. The company describes its focus as the holistic design of the nutrition mix of the future, with an emphasis on conscious and balanced nutrition. Its presence is centred on Germany and the wider European market.
