National Fitness Partners

National Fitness Partners (NFP) is one of the largest Planet Fitness franchise organisations in the United States. Headquartered in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, it operates more than 200 clubs across 14 states, serving over 1 million members and employing more than 2,400 people. The clubs offer strength and cardio equipment, complimentary fitness training, clean facilities and customer service within Planet Fitness's pressure-free Judgement Free Zone environment.

The company has grown substantially since entering the Planet Fitness system in 2005, when it converted two centres to become the 48th and 49th clubs in the franchise. It has since built more than 50 new fitness centres and acquired 144 Planet Fitness locations. NFP was acquired by private equity firm Argonne Capital in 2016 and continues to pursue expansion.

Operations span multi-unit franchise management, fitness equipment operations and digital fitness offerings, with digital content and experiences provided to members alongside in-club facilities. Other programmes include free fitness training and Mini Judgement Free Zones, which bring the Judgement Free Zone concept into local communities, alongside volunteering initiatives.

The business traces its origins to the Kindler family's barbershop in the 1960s and to four family fitness centres in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area during the 1980s and 1990s. Its stated mission is to transform lives through affordable fitness, delivered in an approachable, non-intimidating club environment.
