Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL) is a high-complexity reference laboratory founded in 1997 and headquartered in Hamilton, New Jersey. It provides automated DNA-based molecular analysis for infectious diseases and other complex conditions to hospitals, physicians and laboratories worldwide, and is licensed across multiple U.S. states. MDL is a member of Genesis Biotechnology Group.
The laboratory's technical work spans molecular diagnostics, PCR-based testing, genetic testing, oncology testing, pharmacogenomics, antimicrobial resistance, cytogenetics and mycology, alongside infectious disease testing covering blood-borne pathogens, women's health and pediatric infections. In-house R&D teams operate across these specialty areas. MDL holds CLIA certification and CAP accreditation and is subject to regular inspections and proficiency testing.
MDL's proprietary specimen collection platforms - OneSwab®, UroSwab® and NasoSwab® - each support multiple PCR-based tests without requiring refrigeration. Its Women's Health testing panel detects more than 90 pathogens from a single vial, with reported high diagnostic sensitivity and specificity and rapid turnaround. The laboratory serves clinical diagnostics customers across hospital and laboratory services, physician office testing, and specialty fields including oncology, urology, dermatology and endocrinology.
