Arvig

Minnesota-based telecommunications company providing high-speed internet, fibre, television, phone and security services to residential and business customers.

Arvig is a telecommunications and broadband company headquartered in Perham, Minnesota. Founded in 1950 by Royale and Eleanor Arvig as the Perham Telephone Company, it now employs nearly 800 people and serves a 9,000-square-mile area across Minnesota. The company describes itself as one of the nation's largest independent broadband service providers and has been a pioneer in deploying rural fibre to underserved areas. Its residential and business offering spans high-speed internet over a fibre-rich network, television, telephone services and security systems. For business and carrier customers it also provides Hosted PBX cloud communications and fibre transport. Two subsidiaries extend the group's scope: Arvig Construction, which undertakes underground utility and communications contracting, and Arvig Answering Solutions, which provides call centre and answering services. Technical work at Arvig therefore covers broadband and fibre network deployment, fibre transport, telecommunications infrastructure, cloud communications, security systems, underground utility contracting and call centre operations. The company is employee-owned under an ESOP-style arrangement and describes its orientation as "neighbors first and a broadband provider second".
